dear bro shuk,

it's me again (formerly known as anonymous :-)..bro shuk, it's been almost 20 years (1987) since i first heard belantara, at that time i was 17, struggling to study for my SPM in one of those "sek. men. sains"...my first reaction when listening to songs from ur 1st album was “wow!!!”… this is what I wanted from a local band…u know at that time, banyak rock band mcm cendawan tumbuh….but sorry to say, only a couple produced good, educated materials…the rest were more like “rock kampung”… but Belantara really sounds like an American band…as u noticed during those days, many local bands “ciplak” mat salleh’s songs sikit2, tang part solo, intro etc…even sweet charity terlalu banyak if I want to list down their songs which “cilok” lagu mat salleh, but I guess I’m not here to write bout those “cilok”,, dah melalut lak ni… he2… I dunno, correct me if I’m wrong, ur song rintihan menara gading punya solo tengah2 ada sikit mcm diary of a madman (ozzy)…solo tengah2 nostalgy ada sikit2 macam nobody’s fool (Cinderella) and intro perintah berkurung lbh kurang (or sama kot..he2) mcm separate ways (journey)…tapi tu semua benda kecik..….BUT, what I want to stress here is that Belantara sounds very original, not like other bands at that time,,,that’s why I memang truly, madly , deeply minat u guys…we really salute u guys, like ACDC said “for those about to rock, we salute you”…

actually bro shuk, I’m lucky to meet you twice (kalau tak silap orang)…but you didn't realize sebab I tak tegur u, takut salah orang…somewhere in 1991 or 1992, I can’t remember, I saw you at HR department Perwira Habib Bank (5th floor SPK) 2nd time was either 90 or 92 at Stadium Merdeka, malaysia cup final when kedah played,, tak ingat 90 or 92, coz 90, kedah played against spore, 92 kedah vs pahang..tak ingat lah… on these two occasions kalau I tak silap orang lah, kalau silap sorry ye bro… if u still can memorise then bertuah le saya.. he2… ok bro, next time we chat again…email add u ni shukms@streamyx.com still ok ke?

Corporate media is drooling to hold control over the force music and they are doing one of heck of a good job at it...albeit their only drive is purely economic. The force must be returned to the rightful guardian ( Musician & Artistic community)All is not lost though, but perhaps we all should collectively think on the steps that need to be taken to achieve this and put every party on their rigthful place. To corporate media, please dont steal our thunder, in fact dont steal at all!Go ahead make the money, but do not forget to contribute and to serve.Random public msg's definately ain't enuf!

Lee,

One of my friend disguised as a person named Lee on one hilarious occassion, but that's another story and for another time...

Anyways, I guess we've met, but thousand apologies, I'm bad with remembering names, but I think I'm ok with faces though, which usually keep me guessing, coz I will always feel that I have seen that face before -- but where aa?.

If I'm at stadium merdeka for a kedah game, i think the match between Kedah/Perak or Kedah/Selangor.

Sorry, you have to use this new e-mail address to communicate, shukmsalleh@gmail.com
