BELANTARA MUSIC REISSUED IN MARVELOUS LOOKING CD FORMAT
Rejuvenation of past malay musical journey is in order.
Universal has decided to make available malay music album of the past in CD form.
Album from Belantara - being one of the entity in the Universal Records stable - will be released in CD form.
The first album Belantara - Belantara was released in November 2015 and the other released SriKandi Disisi and Infiniti will follow suit tentatively in February 2016. Also in the line-up for re-release is the Best of album which bear the budget cover design of a tiger jumping (?) and tumbling monumental letterings of Belantara which probably were carved out of the stone of the legendary Mount Ophir.
As the legend goes, the masters to these albums (plus masters of all Polygram stable that did their recordings in Lion Studio Singapore) are no longer available, albiet being stolen by aliens from outerspace. As the aliens valued those masters more and considered them precious heritage compared to the past masters at the record company that put them as shit! and therefore fit to be forgotten. Luckily those aliens kept the masters safe somewhere in their planet.
As such, the above recording are sourced from vinyl recordings and then processed for CD release.
Hopefully when our (malaysian) civilization is ready to appreciate works of music, the alien will drop by to our planet and returned those lost masters of Universal artiste.

"Very the very" true Bro ... While driving with the kids home from dinner (full quorum due to school holiday) just now, somehow my fingers semantically searches "Belantara" in Spotify.
Using my veto power, all bluetooth connections from my kids devices to the car player were denied. Everybody vowed listening to my phone's Spotify of Rintihan Menara Gading, Kepangkuan Ibunda, Bunga Bangsa, Jiwa Perajurit, Dewi, Srikandi disisi, Jebat ... While I was telling them ... The music was so ahead of time, the lyrics were so intriguing and positive ... somehow the positive vibes has led me to where I am, now.
"Awat hang nak pi Amarika ..." Masya Allah ... Could still remember arwah bapak probing my interest after SPM results in 1988. Off course I gave him with strereotype answer and yet dalam hati was to follow Belantara ... Cool Rockers and yet Very Smart Dude. Almost every night, after nights light off, we were practicing "gitar kapok" down the corridor kat hostel in 1987 ... Strumming some basic chords of Dewi or Sutra.
Sampai jugak kaset2 original Belantara ke US, the songs filled up my freezing cold room without heater. Perghhh ... Precious memories !!!

Finally got all the album in cd format. Used to listen to them in my sdarian days..

SALUTE BELANTARA
Tak banyak band Malaysia seperti Belantara yg mampu miliki identiti tersendiri, kerana ada bakat mencipta lagu dan lirik sendiri.
Era 80an, waktu Malaysia dilanda wabak Rock Kapak bernada M.Nasir - kebanyakan lagu rock 80an bunyinya sama, bunyi melodi M.Nasir... Dan kebanyakan mereka guna riff gitar yg sama utk lgu up-tempo... Ugh... Mual... Tak banyak band yg ada citarasa tersendiri, kerana mereka tak punya bakat mencipta. Mereka bergantung identiti pada org lain, kepada komposer-komposr lagu zaman itu... Bermula dgn album pertama Search, M.Nasir menguasai identiti muzik Malaysia, hasilnya band rock di Malaysia kurang identiti diri. Jika tiada komposer, otak mereka membatu, jadi keras tak berfungsi. Hisap dadah pun tetap takda idea...
Kreatif? Tidak wujud kreativiti dlm otak 80 peratus band rock Malaysia yg tahu meniru gaya pakaian artis barat. Mereka masih guna riff gitar yg sama utk lgu up-tempo... Ugh... Tiada progression. Mereka tetap menunggu suapan melodi dan lirik, menjadi mangsa perahan korporat industri muzik...
Mat Rock Kapak, bersama station radio waktu itu, tak berapa suka Belantara, kerana susunan muzik Belantara yg advance, progresif dan radikal. Malah banyak lagu Belantara kena gam dengan RTM kerana ada lirik yg seperti mengkritik kerajaan. Perdana Menteri waktu itu kata haram hukumnya mengkritik kerajaan (tapi sekarang dia kritik kerajaan. tak sadar diri). Mat Rock Kapak lebih suka menjadi mangsa suapan melodi yang mudah dan melayukan. Balada putus cinta generasi longlai. Maklumlah, mat rock jiwa melayu-layu, mereka tidak Jebat.
Mat Rock Kapak kata tak rock ler dengar lagu jiwang. Tapi lagu favorite mereka kebanyakannya lagu slow rock meleweh-leweh, melayu-layu. Apa ke jimak? Sungguh ironi otak Mat Rock Kapak era 80an.
Waktu pertama kali aku dengar album pertama Search, aku sudah pun meminati Anthrax, Judas Priest, Venom, Ratt, Metallica - yg aku lihat sebagai orang seni kerana mereka buat lagu dan lirik sendiri. Oleh itu aku suka Belantara, Blues Gang, Rampa, Cromox, dan sedikit bilangan band Malaysia yg mencipta lagu sendiri. Sekurang-kurangnya mereka mampu jadi berbeda dgn mencipta lagu dan lirik dari pandangan minda dan pengalaman hidup mereka sendiri.
2016 - M.Nasir tidak lagi aktif, kasut Foong Keong miliknya sudah hilang. Komposer muda yg berkualiti pula sangat kurang. Maka industri muzik Malayisia, bersama artis-artis baru, berserta korporat record label IQ rendah tahap ulat tahi, semakin tenat semuanya sesak nafas tanpa kreativiti tulen, tanpa apa-apa idea segar, lalu mereka semua bersedia utk mati... Kata seorang kawan, "elok la tenat... buat semak je... mati terus lagi bagus..."
Haha! Jimak kamu korporat record label IQ rendah tahap ulat tahi!... Master tape pun boleh hilang (ke tangan lanun), apa ke jimak?
