BLAST FROM THE PAST: DEBUT ALBUM

The band was originally formed by 3 guys from Washington State University and University of Idaho. Afer writing songs in Winter of 1986, the group sent demos to Polygram Record in Malaysia and was immediately offered a recording contract after the record company saw the potential. During that period -- in Malaysia -- the Rock-Heavy Metal music was slowly gaining ground into the mainstream and becoming very popular to the younger generation.
Recorded at top of the line Lion Studio in Singapore, the album was jointly produced by Belantara and Hillary (of Search). M.Nasir also helped produce the vocals on one of the song Dewi when he dropped by the studio during the band recording session. The debut album was well received, especially by the university students and was popular in the campus.
The songs:Belantara, Kepangkuan Ibunda, Jebat, Jiwa Perajurit, Sutra, Jentera Pemusnah, Dewi, Rintihan Menara Gading, Nostalgy, Negaramu Yang Utama.

bro, i still remember the time when i first heard sutra.. still in sekolah menengah and the melody went straight to my head. i'm in radio now and i've played this song numerous time during my show. maybe one of these days i'll get you guys to speak about your experience in the music scene in malaysia. you guys rock!!

This is still the best local rock album - came out when i was in Form 2, i must have bought at least 5 copies of it (all gone) - JEBAT is awesome!
Still looking for the CD, though i dont think polydor actually release one. hey can mail me the mp3? [oops!]

Belantara memang best la...saya salah seorang peminatnya...lagu-lagu seperti Sutra, Dewi, Nostalgy, Kepangkuan Ibunda dan lain-lain saya masih hafal lirik dan melodi walaupun kaset dia dah hilang kemana....yang tinggal cuma album koleksi dia je...masa top lagu-lagu dari 1st album tu saya masih di sekolah menengah(form 5)...memang nak cari balik album 1st album(Belantara-lukisan harimau belang bersegi tu)..hehe, 2nd album (Srikandi Disisi) dan 3rd album (Infiniti) tu...aduh rindunya kat lagu-lagu tu

At least we are far away from M Nasir and Rock Kangkang in Malaysia...IMHO, you guys influenced heavily by Queensryche, Randy Rhode style in your music!!! but hey..that the way rock that I want!!...Like other guys..Im also looking for this album in CD..in CD!!

Guys...one of the most memorable albums is your debut album. I remembered played "Dewi" with my band in a concert during my University days. Awesome song.
my brother used to hv all your albums..then then it transferred to me (actally..i took it and keep it for mysely)..
..so where can i hv one as the those are awesome and still..
